Berlusconi's visit to Norway

Yesterday, the Italian primeminister Berlusconi came to Norway for a state visit. I was there at Karl Johan and took photos of my younger brother Torbjørn standing guard in his military uniform.

It was pretty neat with a military band and all.
There wasn't much coverage of this on the news in Norway.

ICON 2004

Tomorrow I'm going London to attend Icon 2004. I'm really looking forward to it.
I'll return on tuesday the 28th.
When I get back I'll give a full conference report. I'm bringing my camera so I'll post some pictures as well.

TIA July Issue

I have just received the July issue of The Intellectual Activist. It contains an article written by Robert Tracinski entitled "The Soul of the Left: Michael Moore and the Death of the "Liberal Elite"" and the second part of Richard Salsmans "The Cause and consequences of the Great depression."

The Intellectual Activist is a little behind schedule, but the quality is as good as ever.
Robert Tracinski is doing a good job and probably has an enormous workload with The Intellectual Activist, TIA daily and TIA Forum.

Syrians & Chemical Weapons

The syrians have testet chemical weapons in the Darfur region in Sudan according to the German newspaper Die Welt.

The importance of this is that Syria has been stocking up on WMDs and have shown a will to test them out on civilians. Wether or not Syria has gotten those WMDs from Iraq is unimportant. Syria is a menace and was named as a member of the axis of evil by President Bush a long time ago. (As of late it seems as though he has forgotten all about Syria and especially North -Korea).

But most people don't care about what happens in Sudan. There are no American troops down there to blame, so who cares, right? The left only cares about human life when they give a "righteous pose" and condem the USA. And believe me, it is only a pose. Hatred of the west is more important to them than life.

Well, I care and I'm an angry lemming that is about to explode.

Syria, next...?

The Arab reaction to Beslan

I found this excellent article at Jihad watch, written by Nonie Darwish. It compares the differences between how Americans and Russians fight back after a terrorist attack and why the Arabs are scared to wake "the Russian Bear".

An excellent read!

The production of 5 nukes in Iran!

Secular Blasphemy made me aware of this particular story. Iran is producing five nukes (according to the Telegraph). Now that is scary stuff!

We can only hope that the Israeli's do a repeat of the glorious 1986 bombing-run over Iraq, where they managed to halt the Iraqi nuclear programme. They should be nominated for the Nobel Peace prize for that! (But I guess that the Americans won't allow Israeli planes to fly over Iraq on their way to Iran. And that's a damn shame! Because who else has the moral rectitude and courage to intervene. The Americans? They're too soft and squemish!).

V.S. Naipul and war with Iran and Saudi-Arabia

I just came across this by way of Jihad Watch.

"Asked about a proper response of the West, Naipaul said: "Well, clearly Iraq is not the place to have gone. But religious war is so threatening to the rest of us that it cannot be avoided.
"It will have to be fought... there are certain countries which foment it, and they probably should be destroyed, actually."
What about Saudi Arabia? Naipaul said: "I would like to think so, yes", adding that "I think Iran has to be dealt with, too."
Naipaul believes that the world is yet to confront the implications of the rise of Islamic states."

Read the whole thing here!

I have yet to read the books of this Nobel prize winning author, but he seems to be a man of great courage and independent thought.

I look forward to reading his works!

The Morality of War

I'm listening to this now!

"The Morality of WarBy Yaron Brook
Recorded on September 9, 2004
In this passionately reasoned lecture, Dr. Brook explains why America's war is being sabotaged. He blames the moral code of Altruism—embodied in the "just-war" theory—that drives Washington's battle plans. It is this code of warfare that explains why victory is within our reach, but consciously forfeited. [View event flyer]"

The Ayn Rand Institute has just made it available to registered members. Registration is free!

Multiply

I have just joined Multiply, which is a forum for keeping in touch with friends, making new friends and generally organizing your life. It seems as though it is a bit more reliable than Orkut, which seems to time-out a lot now-a-days.

The design on multiply I find more pleasing than Orkut, and I particularily like the fact that you can have a bigger photoalbum in Multiply than you can in Orkut.

I'll still continue using Orkut. As of late, I have started meeting new and interesting people there. Which I have started e-mailing: All female, offcourse...

YES, YES!!!!

Picaboo beta

I just tried out Picaboo beta, a good photoalbum programme where you can share pictures with friends and others. I especially liked the feature where one can add music to your photoalbum and how versatile it is in creating albums with a personal flavour.

Definitely something to try out. Highly recommended!
